About the Role
Africa Global Logistics (AGL), in partnership with the MSC Group, is transforming the continent's logistical landscape by enhancing competitiveness and connectivity. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Project Manager to spearhead our Onne Base Development M/F project in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the end-to-end development of state-of-the-art logistics infrastructure, driving operational excellence from initial planning through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, scopes, objectives, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms.
- Coordinate the design, procurement, and construction of offices, warehouses, storage facilities, yards, and specialized equipment installation.
- Secure all necessary licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals while ensuring strict adherence to local legislation and company policies.
- Establish standard operating procedures and streamline cross-functional workflows across logistics, warehousing, procurement, finance, HR, IT, and QHSSE.
- Formulate base mobilisation and transition strategies to guarantee absolute operational readiness for full-scale execution.
- Manage stakeholder relationships effectively, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, port authorities, and host communities.
- Oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, and cost-control initiatives to maximize financial efficiency.
- Ensure uncompromising compliance with AGL HSSE standards, conducting rigorous risk assessments and proactive safety implementations.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, guiding talent acquisition, resource allocation, and team mobilisation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years dedicated to complex project management.
- Demonstrated expertise in facility setup, base development, terminal operations, and large-scale industrial project execution.
- Professional project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigeria's oil and gas sector and familiarity with the Niger Delta operating environment.
