About the Role
Westpaq Engineering Nigeria Limited (WPQ) is a leading integrated global management consulting and engineering company specializing in the oil and gas sector. We are currently seeking an experienced and technically competent Offshore Construction Supervisor to oversee vital construction operations on our offshore projects in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will coordinate daily work activities, supervise multidisciplinary craft teams, ensure strict compliance with approved engineering drawings, and maintain exceptional standards of safety, quality, and productivity within challenging offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise all daily structural, piping, mechanical, and electrical construction activities while providing technical guidance to craft teams.
- Ensure stringent Health, Safety, and Environment standards by maintaining valid Permits to Work, conducting toolbox talks, and enforcing PPE compliance.
- Collaborate closely with QA/QC and Welding Inspectors to verify correct materials, monitor workmanship, and drive timely punch list closures.
- Implement daily and weekly look-ahead plans, managing resource allocation and interfacing with client representatives and marine crews.
- Lead, motivate, and manage offshore construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring seamless shift handovers and adherence to project schedules.
- Prepare accurate daily progress, manpower, and constraint reports to support construction dossiers and handover documentation.
- Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Welding/Fabrication, or a related technical discipline; a Bachelor's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction supervision experience within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on offshore brownfield operations.
- Proven ability to interpret engineering and isometric drawings, construction specifications, and method statements.
- Strong working knowledge of PTW, SIMOPS, construction planning, and engineering visualization tools like Navisworks and AutoCAD.
