We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic team and ensure the optimal performance of our heavy-duty equipment and industrial machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty mechanical systems, machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults in diesel engines, hydraulics, pumps, and drivetrains to execute prompt repairs.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals accurately.
- Ensure strict compliance with mechanical codes, environmental policies, and company safety regulations.
- Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate effectively with site engineers, technicians, and other multidisciplinary trades to support ongoing operations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all repairs, routine inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Respond swiftly to emergency equipment breakdowns and provide efficient, lasting solutions.
- Minimum of a Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel/Automotive Mechanics, or a related technical discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven hands-on experience as a heavy-duty mechanic within industrial, oil and gas, or construction environments.
- Extensive working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Proficiency in utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and mechanical measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with local and international mechanical safety standards and operational codes.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and good interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and resilience required to work in demanding industrial environments, including lifting, climbing, and confined spaces.
