We are currently seeking a talented and driven Editorial Reporter to join our growing media and communications team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering accurate, engaging, and impactful news content to our diverse audience.
Key Responsibilities- Research, investigate, and develop compelling news stories, features, and human-interest reports across various sectors.
- Cover press conferences, public events, exclusive interviews, and other vital news assignments.
- Conduct professional interviews with relevant personalities, industry stakeholders, and credible news sources.
- Gather, verify, and critically analyze information from reliable sources to maintain journalistic integrity.
- Write clear, accurate, and engaging news reports and editorial content meeting high industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with editors, producers, and fellow newsroom personnel to shape daily content.
- Monitor current affairs, political, economic, social, and industry developments in Nigeria and globally.
- Meet strict editorial deadlines while adhering strictly to professional journalistic ethics and media laws.
- Contribute creative story ideas and unique angles for news bulletins, digital programmes, and publications.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of verifiable professional experience in journalism, media reporting, or digital content creation.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, coupled with strong interviewing techniques.
- Strong research, analytical, and investigative abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Comprehensive understanding of current affairs, socio-economic landscapes, and media ethics.
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure and consistently meet tight daily deadlines.
- Proficiency in digital media tools, social platforms, and advanced online research methods.
