About the Role
Cemex Portals is a full-service Architecture, Construction, Interior works, and Project Management Firm based in Lagos, Nigeria, with an outstanding portfolio of commercial and private projects. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide strategic and technical leadership in project cost management, procurement, contract administration, and commercial operations across our diverse construction portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for all quantity surveying, cost management, and commercial activities across multiple projects.
- Develop comprehensive project cost plans, detailed budgets, accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and reliable financial forecasts.
- Lead tender evaluation, contractor prequalification, procurement processes, and high-level commercial negotiations.
- Oversee contract administration, including interim valuations, payment applications, variation orders, claims, and final account reconciliation.
- Implement robust cost control procedures, value engineering strategies, and commercial risk management frameworks.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate quantity surveying personnel.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure optimal project delivery.
- Bachelor Degree (B.Sc./B.Tech) or HND in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution; a Master Degree is an advantage.
- Must be a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN).
- Must be a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS); RICS membership is an advantage.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive professional experience in quantity surveying within the construction and built environment industry.
- Extensive expertise in cost planning, contract administration, procurement, and relevant QS software such as CostX or PlanSwift.
