About the Role
Proforce Limited is a leading total defence solution provider specializing in advanced armoured vehicles and personal protection. We are currently looking for a creative, analytical, and driven R&D Officer to join our engineering team at our state-of-the-art facility in Ode Remo, Ogun State. In this role, you will play a vital part in researching, designing, and testing cutting-edge tactical and commercial protective vehicles that safeguard lives across Africa and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize advanced CAD software to create and refine 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications for vehicle components and armor kits.
- Participate in the assembly and rigorous field testing of experimental vehicle prototypes to evaluate structural integrity and performance.
- Conduct laboratory and field research on materials like armored steel, ballistic glass, and composites to ensure optimal protection capabilities.
- Perform reverse engineering on existing vehicle components to identify flaws, reduce weight, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Analyze technical data from simulations and blast tests, preparing comprehensive research reports for senior management.
- Collaborate closely with production engineers, machinists, and quality control teams to transition concepts smoothly into workshop fabrication.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in research and development, CAD design, or vehicle engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD, with basic familiarity in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Solid understanding of automotive systems, materials science, ballistics principles, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Strong analytical thinking, high spatial reasoning, and excellent technical documentation skills.
