We are currently looking for a competent and qualified Laboratory Technician to join our vibrant academic community in Abuja. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining laboratory standards, supporting academic practicals, and fostering a safe, efficient environment for students and researchers alike.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and set up equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical classes, demonstrations, and research experiments.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and apparatus to ensure optimal performance.
- Enforce strict health and safety protocols within the laboratory to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory levels, track supplies, and assist with the procurement of necessary laboratory reagents and equipment.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to students and faculty members during practical sessions and research projects.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage, maintenance schedules, and safety audits.
- National Diploma (ND) or equivalent qualification in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT).
- Current registration, certification, and licensing by the regulatory body in Nigeria, the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT).
- Proven ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Be available and willing to work full-time on campus in Abuja.
