About the Role
The Label Store, a leading retail supermarket dedicated to quality groceries and exceptional customer service, is seeking a diligent and experienced Internal Auditor to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding our assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational efficiency across our multi-branch supermarket operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular internal audits across company branches to assess compliance with established operating policies and procedures.
- Examine financial records, daily sales reports, cash collections, and bank deposits to ensure absolute accuracy and transparency.
- Perform periodic and surprise stock counts, investigating inventory variances, shortages, and damages.
- Review procurement transactions, supplier invoices, and payment documentation to prevent financial irregularities and ensure value for money.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, assess internal control systems, and conduct fraud investigations when necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations for management.
- Monitor the implementation of approved audit recommendations and track outstanding control issues.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in internal auditing, financial control, or external audit within a structured organization.
- Active membership or professional qualification with ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent bodies is strongly preferred.
- Previous working experience in retail, supermarket operations, FMCG, or multi-branch environments is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation, and procurement control procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with modern accounting or enterprise management software.
