About the Role
We are seeking a commercially minded and results-driven Group Accountant to oversee financial accounting, reporting, and statutory compliance across our diversified group of companies in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate accounting functions across multiple entities, produce accurate consolidated financial statements, maintain robust internal controls, and deliver strategic financial insights that drive management decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee accounting operations, general ledger entries, and financial reporting across all group entities.
- Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidation eliminations efficiently.
- Coordinate annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and variance analysis to guide business growth.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws, statutory obligations, and timely remittance of VAT, PAYE, and WHT.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial regulators.
- Supervise finance personnel, manage accounts payable and receivable, and maintain fixed asset registers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory ICAN or ACCA professional qualification.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience with strong multi-entity consolidation expertise.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian taxation, budgeting, and financial controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Opera, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
