About the Role
Reddington Hospital, a leading multi-specialist tertiary healthcare provider in Victoria Island, Lagos, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dialysis Nurse to join our renowned renal care team. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive, compassionate nursing care to patients with acute and chronic kidney conditions, ensuring optimal outcomes through advanced medical technology and adherence to international best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, addressing concerns and explaining procedures clearly.
- Perform thorough pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis assessments, monitoring vital signs, fluid balance, and vascular access sites.
- Set up, operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot dialysis machines while adhering strictly to infection control and safety standards.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient responses, and document treatments accurately in patient records.
- Collaborate closely with nephrologists, dietitians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to execute individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on kidney disease management, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle modifications.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Certification as a Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Nephrology Nurse (CNN) is a strong advantage.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Proven clinical experience working in a hospital dialysis unit or acute renal care setting.
