About the Role
Taghini Foods is a leading traditional poultry processing company based in Ibadan, dedicated to supplying fresh and frozen poultry products to wholesalers, caterers, and further processors, including Halal-certified options. We are currently seeking a results-driven Commercial Broiler Farm Officer to oversee day-to-day broiler production activities. In this role, you will ensure optimal flock health, growth, feed efficiency, and mortality control while maintaining strict biosecurity standards to achieve our ambitious production targets.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily flock activities from placement through harvest, ensuring adherence to high production standards.
- Oversee feed and water management systems to optimize growth rates and feed conversion ratios (FCR).
- Implement and monitor strict biosecurity protocols and vaccination schedules to guarantee flock health.
- Maintain optimal litter and environmental conditions within the poultry houses.
- Supervise, train, and guide farm attendants to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Keep accurate, up-to-date farm records and submit regular performance reports.
- Monitor body weight gains and manage mortality rates proactively, escalating any deviations promptly.
- B.Sc., HND, or ND in Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant poultry production certifications or specialized training will be an added advantage.
- Practical hands-on knowledge of commercial broiler production systems.
- Experience ranging from 1 to 3+ years in commercial broiler farming, with large-scale operation experience being a strong plus.
