About the Role
Genero Engineering Limited (GEL) is a wholly indigenous Nigerian Marine Engineering and Engineering Consulting firm established in 2008 to provide high-quality flexible marine, engineering, and turnkey project management services. We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly qualified Chief Officer to join our expanding offshore operations team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant navigation and operation of our vessels, with a strong focus on Diving Support Vessels (DSV). Key Responsibilities- Assist the Master in the overall safe and efficient operation, navigation, and administration of the vessel.
- Maintain command of the vessel in the absence of the Master and ensure strict adherence to company policies and international maritime regulations.
- Supervise deck operations, cargo handling, stability, and ballasting procedures, particularly during complex offshore and DSV operations.
- Lead onboard safety management systems, conduct regular safety drills, and ensure strict compliance with HSE standards.
- Manage, mentor, and evaluate the deck crew to maintain high standards of performance and teamwork.
- Oversee the maintenance and inspection of deck machinery, life-saving appliances, and firefighting equipment.
- Proven, demonstrable experience working on DSV (Diving Support Vessel) vessels is mandatory.
- Hold relevant valid marine certifications, STCW endorsements, and up-to-date seafarer documentation.
- Strong safety awareness and proven ability to thrive in challenging offshore environments.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
