About the Role
Genero Engineering Limited (GEL), a leading wholly indigenous Nigerian Marine Engineering and Engineering Consulting firm established in 2008, is seeking a dedicated and skilled 3rd Engineer. In this vital role, you will be an integral part of our dynamic marine operations, ensuring the efficient maintenance and operation of vessel machinery while upholding the highest standards of safety and technical excellence in demanding offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Second Engineer in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all main propulsion machinery, auxiliary equipment, and shipboard systems.
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and troubleshooting of engine room equipment to prevent operational downtime.
- Maintain accurate logs of machinery performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules in compliance with company and international maritime standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company QHSE policies during all offshore operations.
- Participate actively in bunker operations, emergency drills, and safety meetings as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Collaborate effectively with deck and engine crew members to ensure seamless turnkey project execution and vessel reliability.
- Proven, hands-on professional experience working specifically on DSV (Diving Support Vessel) vessels is strictly mandatory.
- Hold all relevant maritime certifications, valid seafarer documentation, and STCW certificates required for a 3rd Engineer.
- Demonstrated strong safety awareness and the physical resilience required to thrive in a challenging offshore marine environment.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills to work harmoniously in a multicultural crew.
