About the Role
Genero Engineering Limited (GEL), a leading wholly indigenous Nigerian Marine Engineering and Engineering Consulting firm established in 2008, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated 2nd Officer to join our dynamic offshore operations. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, flexible marine engineering and turnkey project management services to the maritime and oil and gas sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Chief Officer in maintaining safe navigation, watchkeeping, and overall deck operations in compliance with international and company standards.
- Monitor vessel positioning, stability, and cargo operations efficiently while operating in challenging offshore environments.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and participate actively in onboard safety meetings and drills.
- Maintain navigation equipment, charts, and bridge publications to ensure accuracy and readiness at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with the bridge team, deck crew, and engine department to ensure seamless project execution onboard.
- Proven, verifiable professional experience working on Dive Support Vessels (DSV) is strictly mandatory.
- Possession of all relevant maritime certifications, STCW endorsements, and valid seafarer documentation.
- Demonstrated strong safety awareness and resilience to thrive in demanding offshore working conditions.
