About the Role
Genesis Group is a leading Nigerian conglomerate spanning hospitality, entertainment, real estate, and industrial catering. We are looking for a dedicated Tax Compliance Manager to oversee our organizational tax obligations, ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws, and expertly manage both internal reporting and external audits across our dynamic business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and file corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax (WHT), and statutory employee deductions accurately and on time.
- Lead internal and external tax audits with relevant authorities like the FIRS, manage objection procedures, and provide required documentation.
- Conduct comprehensive tax compliance risk assessments, monitor changes in Nigerian tax legislation, and advise leadership on potential impacts.
- Maintain annual tax calendars, manage general ledger tax balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare periodic status reports for finance leadership.
- Mentor, supervise, and review the daily work of tax analysts, accountants, and junior finance team members.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Mandatory professional qualification or active membership in ICAN, CITN, or ACCA.
- 5 to 6+ years of progressive corporate tax compliance experience with direct interaction with Nigerian revenue authorities.
- Deep working knowledge of local tax laws, proficiency in ERP systems, tax compliance software, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
