About the Role
Marriott International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Steward to join the team at the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja. In this role, you will oversee daily kitchen utility operations, including dish room management, night cleaning, back dock maintenance, and banquet plating support. You will supervise kitchen utility associates, maintain operating budgets, and ensure adherence to the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily kitchen utility operations, including dish room performance, sanitation, and back dock cleanliness.
- Supervise, train, and guide kitchen utility associates, ensuring adherence to safety and brand standards.
- Control inventories of food, smallwares, china, glass, silver, and cleaning supplies while adhering to the operating budget.
- Coordinate banquet plating and food running seamlessly with the Banquet Chef and Maitre d'.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas, supplies, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and prompt maintenance reporting.
- Support human resource activities including recruitment, performance monitoring, and fair administration of property policies.
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in food and beverage, culinary, procurement, or a related area; OR a 2-year degree in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or a related major with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
