About the Role
Minim and Tonye Nigeria Limited (M&T), a leading wholly Nigerian-owned infrastructural development and engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Subject Matter Expert in Geosciences. In this critical upstream oil and gas role, you will provide expert technical advisory and assurance services covering geology, geophysics, subsurface evaluation, exploration, and field development activities. Leveraging your extensive international experience, you will help our multidisciplinary teams achieve operational excellence and adhere to global industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Review and provide technical assurance on geological and geophysical interpretations, subsurface evaluations, and exploration studies.
- Assess seismic interpretation, structural mapping, stratigraphic analysis, and reservoir characterisation studies.
- Review geological models, basin evaluations, prospect assessments, and hydrocarbon resource estimations.
- Provide expert input into exploration strategies, appraisal programmes, and field development planning.
- Evaluate subsurface uncertainties, geological risks, and opportunities associated with hydrocarbon exploration and development.
- Review the integration of geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data in subsurface evaluation and decision-making.
- Assess technical reports, subsurface models, geological interpretations, and resource assessment methodologies.
- Support the development and implementation of geoscience standards, technical assurance procedures, and subsurface evaluation frameworks.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve subsurface understanding, exploration success, and field development outcomes.
- Mentor geoscientists and provide technical knowledge transfer to multidisciplinary subsurface teams.
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Master's Degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Geoscience, or a relevant subsurface discipline will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 25 years of cumulative international upstream oil and gas experience.
- Extensive experience in geological interpretation, geophysics, subsurface evaluation, and reservoir characterisation.
- Strong experience in exploration, appraisal, field development, and integrated subsurface studies.
- Demonstrable experience working in operational or technical roles within major or medium-sized International Oil Companies (IOCs).
- Strong knowledge of international geoscience standards, subsurface evaluation methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in technical assurance, standards development, and technical governance.
