About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Officer, HSE to join our team at the Ibese Plant. In this critical role, you will champion our commitment to operational excellence and employee wellbeing by implementing robust health, safety, and environmental standards across heavy-industry operations.
Key Responsibilities- Implement approved HSE policies, standards, and improvement plans across production, maintenance, and contractor operations.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and environmental concerns, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
- Facilitate Job Safety Analyses (JSA), risk assessments, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) controls for routine and non-routine tasks.
- Monitor employee and contractor compliance with plant safety rules and participate in incident and near-miss investigations.
- Coordinate safety inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills while supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Integrated Management System requirements.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 6 years of post-NYSC practical HSE experience in manufacturing, cement, mining, construction, or heavy industry.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, with relevant professional certifications being an advantage.
- Strong hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation skills.
