About the Role
Owolabi University is a newly established, NUC-licensed private university located in Osun State, Nigeria, committed to delivering world-class higher education. We are currently seeking a distinguished and dynamic academic leader for the position of Professor of Physiotherapy within our Faculty of Allied and Health Science. Operating temporarily from our take-off site in Osogbo, the university is dedicated to fostering groundbreaking research, academic rigor, and professional distinction. Key Responsibilities- Provide strong academic and administrative leadership within the Department of Physiotherapy and the wider Faculty of Allied and Health Science.
- Teach, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in physiotherapy and related disciplines.
- Drive the department's research agenda, actively seeking and securing international research grants and fellowships.
- Develop and review curriculum content to align with global best practices and NUC accreditation standards.
- Mentor junior academic staff and foster a collaborative, research-intensive departmental culture.
- Engage in university governance, community outreach, and institutional development initiatives.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Physiotherapy or a closely related discipline from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 12 years of post-qualification full-time relevant teaching, research, and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated academic leadership with a minimum of 25 scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising postgraduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D.).
- Demonstrated ability to attract competitive research grants, fellowships, and funding.
