About the Role
Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited, an established leader in steel fabrication, civil engineering, and manufacturing since 1981, is seeking a results-driven Procurement Officer to join our vibrant team in Lagos. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving operational efficiency by managing our supply chain, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials and services for our diverse engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including contracting suppliers, managing purchase orders, and negotiating terms to ensure optimal value for money.
- Maintain and cultivate strong, professional relationships with existing vendors, suppliers, and related partner companies.
- Source and evaluate new suppliers to secure the best rates and quality for required construction and manufacturing items.
- Estimate and establish accurate cost parameters and budgets for all purchasing activities.
- Conduct regular stock counts and make necessary inventory adjustments in the system.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized records of purchases, pricing data, and supplier performance metrics.
- Update and manage the approved supplier list, tracking qualifications, delivery times, and development potential.
- Collaborate effectively with internal team members and management to fulfill operational requirements.
- Proven experience working in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar commercial role within the construction or manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical skills with high proficiency in record-keeping and data management.
