About the Role
Mikano International Limited, Nigeria's premier power solution provider and manufacturer of world-class diesel and gas generating sets, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Engineering Officer. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of our high-tech power generation equipment and mechanical systems, contributing to our legacy of engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections and preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on diesel and gas generating sets, engines, and mechanical equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, and overhaul critical engine components including pistons, crankshafts, cylinder heads, and cooling systems.
- Monitor mechanical parameters such as operating temperatures, vibration, lubrication, and pressure to diagnose faults and minimize downtime.
- Supervise major mechanical repairs, component replacements, and engine overhauls while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Perform root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures and collaborate with electrical and instrumentation teams to resolve complex faults.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on equipment breakdowns, repairs, performance metrics, and spare-parts usage.
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new generating equipment and auxiliary mechanical systems.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within the power generation, manufacturing, or heavy machinery sector.
- Strong expertise in troubleshooting diesel and gas engines, fuel supply systems, and cooling systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement effective preventive maintenance schedules.
