About the Role
Flutterwave is powering a new wave of prosperity across Africa by building the digital payment infrastructure for the 21st century. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Manager, Fraud Risk to join our Risk and Compliance team in Lagos. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to manage and mitigate financial losses and payment partner compliance risks across our merchant acquiring and remittance operations, protecting the company while delivering a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate fraud-related risks.
- Implement data-driven risk assessment models and analytical tools to proactively identify emerging financial threats and trends.
- Establish and enhance robust policies and procedures governing fraud risk management across the platform.
- Collaborate closely with product, legal, compliance, and technology teams to build advanced risk mitigation solutions.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of accounts, transactions, and activities to ensure strict adherence to protocols.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging fraud patterns, and regulatory developments to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide accurate reporting on key risk metrics, incidents, and trends to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster a strong organizational culture of risk awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications like FRM, CRM, or CFA are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in risk management, specifically focusing on fraud prevention within a fintech or financial services environment.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and inspiring diverse high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in data analysis, statistical techniques, and risk modeling.
