We are currently seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Officer with a strong background in mechanics and technical repairs to join our dedicated facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the structural integrity, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our school campus, ensuring that students, staff, and visitors enjoy a well-kept and hazard-free environment every single day.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine building maintenance and general repairs across all classrooms, administrative offices, and common areas.
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair electrical fixtures, lighting systems, and minor wiring issues.
- Maintain the safety and security of all outdoor facilities, including playgrounds, walkways, gardens, and gates.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify potential hazards, wear and tear, and prompt necessary corrective actions.
- Collaborate with external contractors and school management for specialized repair projects.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks, tools, and inventory supplies.
- Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Trade Test certificate, or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance, general repairs, and technical troubleshooting, preferably within a school or similar institutional setting.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, basic carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
- Exceptional commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards in a child-centric environment.
