About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading company in building solutions and a member of the global LafargeHolcim group, is seeking a dedicated and competent Machinist for our Mfamosing plant. In this role, you will be responsible for assigning workshop tasks and manpower resources, ensuring all fabrication, welding, and maintenance jobs are executed to the highest standards of efficiency, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Execute pre-planned, predictive, and corrective maintenance of plant machinery and equipment according to LafargeHolcim technical regulations.
- Supervise and perform the fabrication of required components and develop precise shapes from technical drawings.
- Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining good housekeeping and reporting all near misses.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and ensure proper documentation of all assigned tasks.
- Communicate clear work instructions to subordinates and provide accurate daily and weekly activity reports to management.
- Maintain excellent welding and metal joining practices across all workshop projects.
- HND, Ordinary National Diploma, NABTEB, City and Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on machining and fabrication experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional ability to interpret complex technical and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in advanced welding, metal joining techniques, and component fabrication.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead and coordinate workshop teams effectively.
