About the Role
Proten International is recruiting a skilled and dedicated IP Core Senior Network Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing, optimising, and troubleshooting advanced IP backbone networks within a high-performance telecommunications environment. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to ensure maximum network availability, seamless traffic routing, and robust infrastructure reliability across our client base.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot core routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS across domestic and international network peers.
- Optimise network traffic paths, oversee peering and transit profiles, and deploy effective Quality of Service policies to mitigate congestion.
- Monitor IP backbone performance proactively, identify potential bottlenecks, and execute swift corrective measures.
- Deliver tier-two technical support and coordinate directly with vendors to resolve complex network incidents.
- Ensure continuous network stability and support cross-functional operations within a demanding 24/7 environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in IP network engineering within telecom, ISP, or large-scale enterprise setups.
- CCNP certification required, with CCIE-level mastery of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS considered essential.
- Proven expertise working with enterprise routing and switching platforms such as Cisco IOS-XE, IOS-XR, Nexus, Huawei, and Sophos.
