About the Role
Emerald Food & Beverages Company Ltd, producers of premium MANGERO bottled water, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Control Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will assess the design and implementation of internal controls, conduct comprehensive audits, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance our control environment and minimize operational risks.
Key Responsibilities- Review and monitor daily transactions and operational processes to ensure strict compliance with internal company policies.
- Conduct regular internal audits of financial and operational processes, including procurement, production, inventory management, sales, and security.
- Verify records related to the purchase and receipt of raw materials, as well as the distribution of finished goods by in-house and outsourced drivers.
- Identify control weaknesses and report them promptly to supervisors alongside practical recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in daily and monthly stock counts and perform accurate reconciliations of inventory and raw materials.
- Perform daily call-overs of transactional entries into Tally ERP to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, finished goods, and machine spare parts to prevent unauthorized requisitions and issuance.
- Review diesel requests, usage logs, and payment vouchers prior to payment authorization.
- Support investigations into anomalies, potential fraud, or process inefficiencies.
- Assist in training staff personnel on internal control documentation, compliance standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in internal control and auditing, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of Tally ERP being a strong advantage.
