About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Manager to join our dynamic manufacturing operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will champion our commitment to operational excellence by safeguarding our workforce, contractors, visitors, and surrounding environment while ensuring fully compliant and reliable production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain an integrated HSSE management system aligned with ISO 45001 standards and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Lead hazard identification, operational risk assessments, and manage critical activities through robust permit-to-work and lockout/tagout systems.
- Coordinate statutory inspections, environmental monitoring, waste management, and industrial hygiene assessments.
- Establish comprehensive emergency preparedness plans, conduct regular fire safety drills, and lead root-cause incident investigations.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through shop-floor engagement, competency-based training, and effective contractor management.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) and relevant professional certifications such as ISPON or TechIOSH.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive team leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing or factory HSSE environment.
- Strong working knowledge of machinery safety, hazardous energy control, and environmental management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, risk judgment, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
