About the Role
Blooms Academy is seeking a passionate and skilled Fashion Design and Home Economics Teacher to join our vibrant academic community in a serene, well-equipped learning environment. The successful candidate will deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons, equipping students with essential vocational competencies, creative abilities, and critical life skills aligned with our blended international and Nigerian curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver inspiring lessons in Fashion Design, garment construction, pattern drafting, and Home Economics.
- Teach food and nutrition, textile care, personal hygiene, and sustainable fashion practices like upcycling.
- Organize hands-on practical sessions and ensure the safe use of sewing machines and tools.
- Develop assessments, track student progress, and support portfolios of practical work.
- Foster entrepreneurial thinking and mentor students for creative exhibitions and projects.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Fashion Design, Home Economics, or a related discipline.
- Recognized teaching qualification such as a PGDE or NCE is an added advantage.
- Proven teaching experience within a primary or secondary school environment.
- Exceptional practical skills in sewing, garment construction, and fashion illustration.
