Amadeus University, a newly established and NUC-licensed private tertiary institution in Amizi, Abia State, is seeking a dynamic and qualified academic to join our growing College of Medicine. We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Physiology within the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical demonstrations in Medical Physiology for MBBS, BDS, and Allied Health Science students in compliance with NUC and MDCN standards.
- Develop comprehensive course materials, lecture notes, and laboratory manuals to foster an optimal learning environment.
- Set, administer, and grade continuous assessments and examinations, while actively participating in professional medical examinations including OSPE and OSCE.
- Supervise laboratory sessions, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and maintain proper calibration of equipment and reagents.
- Conduct impactful research, participate in departmental seminars, and target peer-reviewed publications.
- Provide academic advising to students, maintain accurate academic records, and contribute to departmental accreditation and quality assurance activities.
- A mandatory Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Physiology or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a university environment.
- An excellent and verifiable record of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity in academic administration, curriculum development, and institutional growth.
- Active registration with relevant professional bodies in the discipline.
- Proven ability to initiate, develop, and supervise student research projects.
